Warranty Information

Smith Level offers a Limited Lifetime Warranty on every level they make.

(1) Binding and end caps are guaranteed not to come off.
(2) Level shall remain straight.
(3) Lamination will not separate (Level must be kept properly oiled).
(4) Glass vials will not leak fluid.
(5) Yellow vials are guaranteed to remain color fast.

The following items have a Limited Three-Year Warranty.

All vials are to remain accurate to a setting of .015 in the length of the level

Evidence of neglect, lack of oil, abuse, striking level, excessive moisture, external damage (dropped or hit with object) will void warranty.

Glass lenses are not guaranteed against breakage. Do-it-yourself lens repair kits are available with full instructions or levels can be sent in and repaired for a cost.

We reserve the right to make the decision as to whether a level shall be repaired or replaced.

We limit the warranty to the accuracy of our levels only and assume no responsibility for any project that is constructed improperly.

All levels needing repair must be sent with shipping Prepaid to our factory, as follows, with written instructions enclosed stating clearly what repairs you are requesting.

Care of your Smith Level

Apply a thin coat of Raw Linseed Oil to your level weekly, wiping off excess oil. (Soak oily rags in water before a disposal to avoid spontaneous combustion.) Clean glass well after oiling. Remember, proper oiling will extend the life of your level!
